Value Engineering.

VE follows a structured thought process that is based exclusively onValue Engineering “function” ie what something “does” not what it “is”. VE is taught within the project management body as a technique in which the value of a systems output is optimised by crafting a mix of performance (function) and costs. In most cases this practice identifies and removes unnecessary expenditure, thereby increasing the value for all stakeholders.

DTL are familiar with the principles of VE and are often active in presenting alternative ideas that save cost without compromising function or performance.
